Casino is Martin Scorsese’s best film to date and it’s a thriller from beginning to end. The film has a lot of captivating themes such as the infidelity of De Niro and Stone’s characters, the false bedrock that their marriage was built on, and the sheer scumbaggery of Nicky going after Ginger. It’s a bit long at three hours, but it doesn’t lag or lose steam at any point during the runtime.

The film is very well shot and Scorsese uses music to great effect throughout the movie. The soundtrack is catchy and memorable and it evokes emotions as the characters go through their ups and downs.

Many of the scenes in Casino are acted very well by the actors. The performances of Sharon Stone, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci are all excellent and each character is compelling.

It’s easy to get carried away in a casino and spend more than you planned on. This is due to the fact that casinos are designed in a way that makes it hard to walk away from them. This includes strategically placing toilets, restaurants, and cash machines deep within the gaming floor so players must navigate past countless slot machines and tables in order to use them. Casinos also pump their air with pleasant scents and dazzling lights to create a manufactured feeling of euphoria, which keeps people gambling for longer periods of time.
